Senior Lecturer in Conservation Genetics
Principal investigator
I use ecological and evolutionary principles to understand wild animal populations. I use genetics tools to study animal migration, the maintenance of genetic variation and to inform conservation management. A current theme in my research studying how captive genetic management can be optimized for animal reintroduction. My research has impact in informing policy and management in practice in species-focused research in the UK and internationally. I also have an interest in applied statistical methods in a range of topics including ecology, pharmaceutical clinical trial design and student progression in higher education.
